Campus Location: Danvers and Lynn campus 4 days on site, 1 day remote
Work Schedule: 37.5 hours/week, benefited position
SALARY RANGE: Anticipated starting salary is $60,730.00 - $64,000.00. Actual salary will be commensurate with education and experience in accordance with the MCCC/MTA collective bargaining agreement. GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
The SUCCESS Fund was established for community colleges to provide wraparound support and services with the goal of increasing persistence and attainment rates and improving outcomes for targeted student populations. The Student Essential Needs Coordinator will work with NSCC departments, faculty and staff, to provide non-academic support to students and the overall educational experience. This candidate will work with students from diverse backgrounds and identities to plan and implement essential needs planning for educational progress. This person will collect student population data to inform strategies to increase supportive measures to positively impact student persistence as related to diversity initiatives regarding SUCCESS Cohort students, the NSCC student population at large, and connections to essential needs resources within the community.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Coordinate and oversee the day-to-day operations of the NSCC food pantry, the food lockers, transportation as needed and other associated tasks regarding student essential needs.
Coordination and implementation of NSCC's monthly mobile markets.
Provide assistance by connecting students to essential needs resources and attending community partner meetings as needed.
Meets with students regarding Here to Help essential basic needs referrals via EAB Navigate in collaboration with Student Financial Services
Serves as the NSCC Single Point of Contact (SPOC) representative for the MA Network Subcommittee on Housing and Food Insecurity. Attend weekly hunger network meetings to build community relationships.
Interacts with the Wellness and Accessibility Services office to support community connections and partnerships focused on essential needs.
Attend meetings designated within collaboratives as a NSCC member in support of our student educational needs.
Support students with securing state and federal assistance such as SNAP benefits.
Review data to create informed connections to local resources and increase the capacity of support on campus for our students in need in conjunction with the Executive Director of Wellness & Accessibility Services
Work within a case management model to support student needs and next best steps in action planning; utilizing EAB Navigate, BANNER and other platforms to monitor academic performance, provide outreach, and respond to alerts to maintain accurate records.
Work in close collaboration with faculty, academic departments, and staff college-wide to provide support for SUCCESS students that meet program goals and support student needs across academic, personal, and financial needs.
Plan, develop, and deliver relevant workshops in appropriate modality either online and in-person according to students' needs.
Participate in orientation activities as appropriate.
Anticipate and meet all program participant needs accurately, professionally, and with a commitment to student success and growth; participate in professional development activities as required.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Education, Counseling, Psychology, Business Administration, Marketing, Education Administration, or other field related to area of assignment; with three (3) years related experience involving area of assignment, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Relevant experience and/or training involving area of assignment, which may include essential needs services, health, nutrition, personal coaching, academic coaching, academic advisement, program/project management, case management, or administrative work in an academic environment and/or an equivalent combination of education, training, or experience.
Experience and sensitivity to physical and psychological barriers affecting student success in higher education.
Awareness of local and national trends in higher education around equity, access, and diversity.
Knowledge of theory and best practices regarding social justice initiatives and implementation.
Demonstrated ability to provide leadership and interpersonal connections with culturally diverse populations.
Strong interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to effectively interact with people of diverse socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds, including adult learners (Please address this qualification in your application materials).
Strong organizational and analytical skills.
Experience in working with diverse student populations, specifically students from historically underrepresented racial/ethnic groups, women, individuals with disabilities, veterans, LGBTQI+ community members, traditional and adult learners and students utilizing support services.
Demonstrated ability to create and present on a variety of topics relating to this work.
Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills, including the ability to proactively connect with students, faculty, and staff.
Knowledge relating to financial literacy and essential needs support resources that will impact student growth and access.
Candidates will be required to pass a CORI/SORI and/or National background check as a condition of employment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in a community college is desirable
Bilingual speaker is desirable
